The Northeast United Football Club, commonly referred to as NorthEast United, is an Indian professional football club based in Guwahati, Assam. The team competes in the top-tier Indian Super League (ISL) and has gained a significant following among football enthusiasts in India.

History of Northeast United FC

Founded in 2014, NorthEast United was one of the eight founding members of the ISL. The club was established by John Abraham, an Indian film producer and actor, along with Shillong Lajong's managing director, Asheer Lamare. In their inaugural season (2014-15), NorthEast United finished as runners-up, losing to ATK in the final.
