What are your future plans? MBA. MTech? Govt/PSU jobs?
Sir i have planned to do M.Tech/P.hd after my B.tech.
Right now i am very confused.
It's like ki aankh khuli aur pata chal raha hai ki B.Tech karni hai.
Mere ghar me koi bada bhai aur koi nahi hai samjhaane ke liye.

I was interested in history, but aapko to scope pata hai.
Mene socha hai ki first i would do the B.tech and M.Tech and then after i will teach in colleges as a professor or will work in a private company.
And simultanously with the job i will do the P.hd.
I would try to apply in isro and i would try to clear upsc.

In that case, don't think of CSE.
You'll be better off with core branches.

If you want to be a professor, go for the branch you like. In this case, EEE.

Participating in the sliding round won't harm you.

There is no difference between first and second shift, it is that your timings would be different and no company differentiate between first and second shift.

According to him a person working for BARC gets a salary which is more than what our PM gets.  :X
when i read this i laugh
i laugh big time
PM gets a cash lets say 1.60l pm
now add the house i can say staying in that location will cost you 10lac per month
the medical
the travel you know how much it cost
the staff yes the entire govt works under him
his cti cost to india cannot be counted

all people here have no idea about polity i am saying again polity not politics
PM IS THE BOSS IN INDIA

bade bade arabpati uske dafter ke age time mangte hai
bhai india ka pm hai bahut badi baat hoti hai jis barc ke admi ki tum baat kar rahe ho
jab modi aur vo kisi jangah ek sath honge to ye barc wala hath jod kar khada hoga
aur vo hath modi ya manmohan ke liye nahi jode jate
vo hath esliye jode jate hai ki vo admi 120 carore logo ka representative hai
jisko bharat ka savidhan bahut kuch karne ka adhikar deta hai

When did i say that?
If you think working at a software firm Is better than working as a scientific officer at BARC then certainly you have got a short term vision. The kind of projects that you are given to work in BARC is unbeatable in terms of work satisfaction.
You might have been brainwashed by all these mushroomimg software firms these days.
But this madness of startups of apps, social media and software isnt reliable. Big e-commerce sites like flipkart, snapdeal arnt making profit still, no need to talk about every other e commerce coming these days. They are still in the market due to the grace of VC funding and rest other investors.
The moment another recession hits the markets, all these private firms will go down the drain.
Over valuation of an industry certainly creates a bubble in industry.
India ek andha kuan hai, yahan ksi ki nahi pata ki kya ho raha hai, sbko lakho ka package dikhta hai aur kuch nahi.

BARC doesn't give 1 lakh salary. It is a prestigious job, no doubt. But even on their site they are claiming ₹ 64000/- gross salary (not in-hand) after 3 increments. Though obviously it will increase with 7th pay commission.

And doing another job side by side your govt. job is actually not legal. Service rules prohibit you to work for anyone else when you are working for them.
Yes sir, i agree....
They pay 64,000 initially after one year training.
But certainly after availing a master degree and a few promotions, one easily reaches to salary of 1 lacs per month and with a little work stress.

And yes, we cant do any side job...but we can surely do some side business. I know one such person who works at a psu but side by side he is involved in a business of wholesale of medicines...and he earns quite handsome...
He has got a bmw.

In short, ek govt job le lo...jisse month ke end me ek fixed salary aa jaye and side me apne wife ya bhai ke naam pr business kr lo... :-)

Will try for ISRO and UPSC?
Ek jagah try kro yar. UPSC is kinda a very big shot. Insane labour is required because there is throat cut competition. Further, be ready for back up, UPSC nhi bhi nikle to UPPSC ya state gov jobs ke sath reh jana.

Working at ISRO is best in terms of work satisfaction. But they pay very less. So it isnt glamourous.

BA degree in History?
It is certainly a good path. Get the master degree and then crack UGC Net. You will become a professor in a central univ. Life sahi rahegi.. 3-4 hours ki class lo...aur fir apni jindagi jiyo, zero work stress. Salary bhi sahi milti hai.
But u wont get a kind of satisfaction.

M.tech and phd is good if u want to be a professor or if u r in ece. For rest branches it isnt good option.

Ps- If you want to earn lots of money and doesnt care for work satisfaction, get a Pgp from old IIMs, mba from IIFT, or pgdm from XLRI. Within a decade, you will have enough momey to buy an audi.
