Introduction to programming

Hello users,
                       I wanna know about the best book to understand basic concepts of programming.....not for semester exam, coz I'm new(beginner) to this programming. I'm not even aware of basic programming..... Please help me to get a book for it
I've googled it but there are so many books avaliable online and I can't get the good one from them please suggest ......

Since you are not looking for semester exams but for your learning I would say go w3schools and follow them while coding.
this will give you basics.
Once you have an understanding how programming is done. Start one book and follow it via code you will learn more.
