Placements / Re: MAIT Batch(2011-2015) placement
« on: September 12, 2014, 12:57:48 pm »
Hi, I am here to clear all your doubts regarding placements at MAIT. I have offers from both Infosys and Accenture, so I believe I can help you a bit.

The written round was intermediate. While most people expected some mathematical questions, most of the paper was based somewhat on logical reasoning only. Only two or three questions were directly related to mathematics. Questions were not very tough, but they were made in a way that if you miss a point slightly, your whole answer will be wrong.
Out of all 600+ students, around 374 cleared the first round.
The Interview was not a formality. It was merely based on interviewer's mood. People who posed themselves as studs and all that coolness were shown their levels. While people who were humble enough to present themselves with a certain attractiveness were treated with all the great things.
If I talk about my interview, it started with small questions like favourite subject, which movie did you last see, etc. Further to that, I was asked each bit of my project. From codes, to problems, to errors in the program, and why I used a certain case here, about the time complexity of the code, etc. Other than that, I was thrown some good HR questions like give a brief overview about the growing relationship between ECE and IT and where do you see IT in the coming years. I was calm throughout the interview and I nodded and acknowledged each bit of things said by HR, along with a smile. But some studs were asked some questions like - Tell me the ratio between the legs of a horse from rear view and lateral view, and some more, which I have forgotten now.

Thank God, I cleared.  :)

Firstly, I should clear this doubt. The online test was not at all a formality! Just because 99% were asked to attend the interview, doesn't make it a formality, and I will tell you why.
The level of this test was mixed. Questions were easy as well as tough, and by tough, I only mean lengthy here. It was an hour test with 55 questions. After this, the interview process started where, the main aim was to impress the interviewer. Now the question is how? The interview was a mixture of GD/Extempore along with a few HR questions for some. But... the catch is - there was no fixed criteria here.
If you feel that speaking long and fluently will fetch you a job then my answer is no, since I know someone who spoke for 4 minutes with awesome fluency and was still not selected. If you speak short, elimination time will also be short. The key here was to speak to the point and clear. It was an instant death who asked for some more time during extempore.
I had a GD where I was given 30 seconds to prove my point and 10 seconds to counter the other team. So basically, it was some walking on fire for 15 minutes for me.
So after these interviews, came the importance of written tests. The scores of the interviews were combined with scores of written tests, and final results were announced and thanks to God, I was selected again!  :D :D .

I guess I have cleared much of your doubts here. Now I am preparing for bigger companies. Pray for me if you can. Thanks! ^_^
Congratz :) what was the position offered by accenture?

Hey, how about adding a. shoutbox at the bottom end of page. I have seen it on many forums and it helps to ask quick questions without making a new thread

hey I have a doubt that if you have 1-2 pending backlog after 8th semester ,  can't we drop those 2 subjects and yet have credits above 200 ??

hello sir...i am a student of IT branch right now in 6th sem... i wanna ask that is it necessary to undergo training/internship from a company or industry...can't we join any institute??? and do we have to do 2 in the vacations and then in the 7th sem(after vacations)...plz clear my doubts sir...thanx in advance  :|
it's better to do internship from any company rather than company u will get to know about how the work is done in a institutes they will teach u like some school or college......and u will have to pay 6-7000 money too. So try to get internship from any company ..if u do not have any links u can apply for start up companies .
