Sir, i'm ODGEN, got 16152 rank in IPUCET 2012 this year.

Please tell me which colleges and branches i can expect with this rank in IPU University?

Also when will first counselling schedule be announced?

As per last year u can get HMR hopefully all branches and GPMCE IT .

But last year counselling was delayed by 50 days a....that's why cutoffs were too low . So it is suggested to have a back up option so that in case u don't get a seat here....u have something in your hand .

No one can guess when 1st cnsling will start ....

Well it depends on which category of defence level u belong to . U can even get USIT if u have 1st category and might not get even NIEC if u belong to lower category .

Really difficult to predict ....

I am not a senior I am also an aspirant... if counselling gets start in later of july then u'll surly get admission.... last year's admission list is given on ipu.ac.in with complete detail of college branch category and rank..... what's your priority in defence....

HERE ARE THE PRIORITIES IN DEFENCE QUOTA

THE COUNSELLING WILL BE STRICTLY HELD PRIORITY WISE ---EVEN IF PRIORITY 1 GET A 40000 RANK HE WILL BE CONSIDERED FIRST RATHER THAN A DEFENCE QUOTA RANK 6000 PRIORITY 7--- THE COUNSELLING WILL BE STRICTLY ON PRIORITY BASIS AND HERE IS THE 2011 COUNSELLING STATUS FOR DDEF AND ODDEF

Some of the options you will get are MAIT IT, BVP IT, MAIT 2nd shift CSE/ECE/MAE, MSIT CSE, MSIT 2nd shift CS/ECE/IT, GTBIT CSE/ECE, and pretty much everything in other colleges.

But last year was delayed counselling - it started after 40 days of results . That's why cutoffs were too low .

But even if counselling starts on time u have gud chances to get all streams in hmr and few stream in gpmce .

Its difficult to tell whether u will get something this year or not . Last year u might have got amity ice , hmr few branches . But last year counselling was delayed one ...it started after 45 days . It is advisable that u book a seat anywhere else and then look for IPU .
