:rtfr i want to ask a imp question regarding placements  :rtfr
suppose a student of GGSIPU of ( EEE / MAE / CVE ) is placed in an IT company :hd  like infosys or tcs or satyam and after taking experience of 2-3 years in IT company he wants to go to core company of ( EEE / MAE / CVE )
:think will the knowledge , experience gained by him from previous IT job help OR  ):(  ):(  ):(  ):( IS JUST IN VAIN AND NOT COUNTED AS EXPERIENCE AND OF NO USE FOR CORE COMPANY    :punish  :punish

ok lets put it the other way round for second. Do you think if you work for core company and then move to IT will they consider your experience? The answer is no. How can you have experience of something you haven't worked on??? So make up your mind on what exactly you wanna work on before joining any company. Yes do sit for placements for various reasons.
1. You will get experience of interviews and all.
2. You will have a back up just incase you cant get yourself into any of the core companies.
3. You will not have to say none when some1 asks you about your placement.

etc etc..

Thanks Piyush, Slimshady, Techmaniac, un_known and Razor...  :D
it was quite an experience.. :D

@un_known-- I have never seen anyone working 15 hours a day at the start of their career,, there are people working 10 to 12 hours even strtching but they are under strict deadlines..
one more reason could be time management,,, sitting in front of computer for 14 hours with negligible output does not count as work.. So do not fear from working, coz that is what u get paid for. do smart work rather than hard work.

@razor. yeah luck plays an important part.. but from morning itself .. I had this feeling of cracking this one.. I told ya.. I did not leave any online papers or similar questions unanswered..that took care of exam part..  Interview was smooth coz of the communication skills that were honed over school and college years.. nd match ka score to main har baar puchhta hun ghar se.. ;) so there was nuthing new in that.. just the timing was perfect.. but yeah luck does play a role.. rest is how you feel on the "D day"

I am glad you all liked my experience.. If u have any questions kindly post them on the alumni thread..

As far as I know, the minimum percentage needed is nearly always around 60-65% for most of these IT companies.

60-65% looks quite low, but if you are saying then it's good for low %age students.

65 is not low basically...!! It is the minimum percentage criteria for most of the companies... So in my opinion
65 - ok
70 - good
75 or above - Awesome...
