this training is about to learn something new .
n implement by making projects which have to be presented in front of teachers in 5th sem.

you are ece student so you can learn about microchips n robotics from some institutes or go for some programming languages n ofcource can join any company/industry to get exposure of real working environment.

certi is important.

if u r a second year student

summer training is a chance to learn something new, something that is not covered in ur course and that might help u in gaining knowledge about the industry in which u r either interested or want to join

for ECE students

1. courses in robotics, VHDL, Embedded software or circuits, microprocessor design or coding in assembly or C++/C

2. some softwares like PSpice, orcad will help u gain knowledge in ece world

for it/cse students
1. learning languages like java .net might help a lot and will also help in near future for your projects in 7 and 8 sem

2.those who are not interested in programming may opt for courses in networking like ccna, RHCE, A+, N+, security+

3. if u r highly interested in security and networking than u can opt for some hacking courses also , though i will not suggest u that is your choice

4. for advance users they can try their hand on Artificial Intelligence projects and concepts doesnt matter if u are not able to implement something substantial main goal is to learn new technologies

for mechanical students
1. try to begin from machine designing softwares like CAD/CAM PROE
these will help u in your coming sems too

2. or you can try your hand of some mechanical related projects ask your seniors for that

if u r 3 year student
this is a time to implement as well as learn something substantial that you want to pursue as your career
try to see the real environment in which you want to go

for ece students
1 mostly students go for either DRDO or some core ECE based company based on semiconductors or VLSI

2 some still try for advance courses in robotics and embedded software and hardware

for cse/it students
1. go for an it company see for yourself how to work in an it environment during this you can learn new things as well as some new concepts

2 you can also go for advance courses of networking as well that is upgrading your CCNA and RHCE certifications these help a lot in placement
being a step ahead is always better

3 working in an IT company will gave u real time environment as well as projects on which they work and methodology on how the project is completed professionally

mechanical i dont really know much

if u still feel something is missing than u r most welcome to ask again

some ece students do learn java
not dot net but those only who pursue their career in an IT company

means those who are not sure of where to go or those who want to have their hands on both core and IT companies

In mait..certi is not important for second year students.

I have made two certis for my frnds of aptech institute...    :xd:

and plz do some courses from some institutes rather then go in some companies.

and @kurosaki sir
sir can we do a 3rd year trng for 6 months rather then go for 2 months from some pvt companies?.

is there any issue?

because i talked in many reputed companies throw approach but they said,we give trng of 6 months.

sometimes it is
like when my friend from ECE (Manish) showed certificate of DRDO they didnt asked him anything just said "Ok go"

also certificate may not be of any importance in mait but for your resume it is

yes if u dont have any knowledge no company will involve you in any project

a 6 months training will be most beneficial for you in your career but

1 how will you manage it you have only 2-3 months free only and then the new session starts and going regularly for 6 months is not an easy task

2 mait will doing his viva in either sept or oct how are you going to produce your project and certificate

3. even if you did this will take a lot of effort........... rest depends on you
Quote/Ask Question

because i talked in many reputed companies throw approach but they said,we give trng of 6 months.

yep most companies do a 6 months training
but still you can try

NIC -my most of the friends did training there and their projects were very good
although they didnt made it but it counts as experience

METRO- doing a case study will also do but for the sake of marks only

Govt institutes-- try for some govt departments that provide a 2 -3 months training like DRDO that will be very helpful but for that you will need contacts

Hello seniors and mates !

 :at wits end

I am really troubled at choosing the priority order for the 6 week summer training.
Me an ECE student at BVCOE,find web designing and pcb chips formulation stuff both very fascinating to work around.
But those whom i've asked about the choice i should go for bein an EC student,
they say
"STICK TO YOUR CORE SUBJECTS and choose either EMBEDDED OR VLSI ".
 :??:

Please help what should i priortise and how much will this 6 weeks work going to matter for a sem 4 student in the future.

Do elucidate a bit on CCNA and Control system fundamentals.

Subjects to choose from:
1.Embedded
2.VLSI
3.ccna
4.dot net
5.Control systems

and i know NOTHING about any of these !
so no question of playing blind games

please help !

There are many options for you...if you have got links then you might try any power plant, load despatch centres, distribution companies like NDPL or even DRDO..otherwise you can opt for training in college too

you are already doing a 4 year course in electrical, isn't it enough??...better see the outside environment in companies or power plants

Electrical is not like CSE or IT that you can do 2 month courses...what should I suggest her, a tution?? Electrical demands the field knowledge, thats why I am suggesting her that...I don't know any Electrical course thats credible enough.(plz don't take me in wrong way, i m saying all this politely)

@Aashi..if you like programming part, then you may take up any language course but if you want to do training in electrical field, then take something which demands a little bit of field work, practical knowledge is important too

i have completed 2nd year now, and i am doing.net from doeacc.
do i still  need some company certificate to show in the college for training or will the doeacc certi will work.
also, does the companies during placements ask for company's training certificate for both trainings after 2nd and 3rd year.

For college purpose certi will be fine as long as you submitt a report.
but if you can get a company certi  then it will be good for you in college.

As far as placement is concerned unless you have worked with a reputed company on some project it doesn't matter to the interviewer.

Most of the time certificates really doesn't matter.
what matter's most is the skill that you have acquired while working on it.

So my advice: It time for you to learn something useful rather than getting certificates.
