All the subjects have some credits associated with them - 1 Credit for Practical and 2/3/4 Credit for Theory Paper . If you clear any exam/practical , you will get full credit for that paper .

There are 214 credits in whole 8 semesters , out of which you need only 200 credits to get your degree and consolidated marksheet . That means you can drop Practical or Exam paper worth 14 credits (Around 3/4 Theory Subjects) and these dropped subjects are called audited subjects .

The Year back rule is also based on credits .

hey, i have 1 backlog at 7th sem. :(( . if i audit this subject to get my degree with 210 credits/214, as i knw we can drop 3/4 subjects at d end to get degree...
Does it affect while applying for any govt. post or in any private company??? coz, rumors telling me that it is mandatory to clear all subjects in b.tech while applying for govt. post...
i am very confused, whether to leave that subject and get my degree or going forward to clear that subject later...
but if go forward to clear that back, i would get degree in 5 years..
what should i have to do??
plz help ASAP :-h

ok
i work in govt job (central govt, ministry of finance department of revenue )
they only check the degree and nothing else with consolidated marksheet

for private unles company specify no back ever or no active back there are no issues
infosys accepted the declaration by college that 200 credit accepted

so i dont think you will face issues
