« Reply #30 on: June 08, 2013, 01:39:02 am »

hello sir, i m gona complete my 2nd sem after the external exams
currently i am having EEE in mait
although i am least interested in EEE
but at concelling i have taken it up

it 1st sem i got back in computer
so now i am not able to upgrade my stream
and now i am thinking to migrate my college
from mait to msit or niec having computer science in hand

so i wanna know that whether it is a right choice to migrate from mait EEE to msit or niec CSE
and i also wanna know that whether it is easy or not to take NOC from mait
they ask for 3 years fees or they easily give NOC

i am really confused
as i dont know whether to change stream or not
i have discussed from many people
and all of them have different choices

i have also about the NOC and some say mait ask for 3yrs fees and some says they dont ask
as there are many people eagrly waiting to join mait by lateral entry......and are also ready to give donations

pls help me to get out from this situation

You have to talk to MAIT authorities regarding this.Having links will help.

And regarding your decision,if you don't have any interest in EEE,don't stick with it.
If you have interest in computers, try to take CSE/IT.
One option which is quite possible is to take IT in 2nd shift,if you are in 1st shift.
It's difficult to get CSE though(as students upgrade from IT/ECE).
But you can surely give it a try.You won't even have to change the college.
Many students migrate from 2nd shift to 1st shift,so vice-versa won't be that difficult.I think MAIT will give NOC for that.
And don't worry about 2nd shift. It's just about timings.Atleast you are going to get your desired branch.
Don't go to NIEC as placements might be a problem.MAIT has better placements.First try what I said, then go for other options.

its  impossible to upgrade IT or to any other stream
as i have got one back
and the back students are not allowed to upgrade to any stream

so according to u i should go for CSE
but the main thing is
will MAIT will give NOC
i mean will they ask for 3yrs fees or no fees
i know many seniors in our colleges
but no direct link with administrator
and as you know ki dusro kai liye kon administrator sai panga lega
so we can say there is no link

in MAIT many lateral entry student come
and many are eager to come by giving donations
so some are saying that they will give NOC
asking for no fees
but they are not sure

and will it be write to change college
or should i stick with EEE
because this is definately sure that placement of CSE or IT in NIEC
is better than the placement of EEE in MAIT

i m really really confused

First of all, the toughest (I literally mean it) part is getting a NOC from your own college ie JIMS.

Most of the colleges don't give NOC's and from previous year University has given strict instructions not to give NOCs

However, if you're very lucky, then you can get another NOC from MAIT/MSIT (wherever you want to go)

Secondly, the migration is 90% successful, but it still depends on how much marks you have in your 1st and 2nd sem (mainly 1st sem)
How many seats are available in college you want to go, how much students that applied, have higher marks than you.

If you qualify, then you'll be migrated..

Or other way is just use JACK :P

college migration is difficult, but not impossible, he need's to come in contact of college authorities asap, they will tell the complete procedure.

Can we change the college after completing 1st year of B.Tech or can I apply for the lateral entry?
