DELHI INSTITUTE OF TOOL ENGINEERING COLLEGE PROFILE part-1
« on: January 31, 2017, 09:36:22 pm »
DELHI INSTITUTE OF TOOL ENGINEERINGADDRESS OF CAMPUS II:DITE @ Okhla - Campus II
Maa Anandmayi Marg ( Near DJB Water Tank),
 Okhla Industrial Area, Phase-II,
 New Delhi-110020
 Phone Nos. 26388920, 29207304, 29207309,
 Telefax:- 27377440
Year of establishment :2007

 A little background on that:
Campus-1 at wazirpur was called TOOL ROOM & TRAINING CENTRE (TRTC) and campus-2 at Okhla was earlier called Hi-Tech Vocational Training centre (HTVTC).They have been in existence since 1978.But it was in the year 2007 that the name changed to delhi institute of tool engineering (campus 1 and campus 2) and b.tech in tool started in the year 2008.B.tech in mechatronics started in the year 2013.

B.tech in tool and mechatronics is concerned with campus 2 at okhla

Campus area:The campus area of campus-2 is intermediate to that of gb pant and aset (if you have ideas about these colleges) It is about 1.5 acres if I'm correct.

here are a few links to give you an idea:

 https://www.google.co.in/maps/@28.5313319,77.2705372,64m/data=!3m1!1e3

Fee structure : The fees is 55,000 per year for b.tech in tool and mechatronics. It may vary a bit but is by and large consistentyou check the details here:http://dite.delhigovt.nic.in/student-form/FEE-STRUTURE-07July15.pdf
mode of admission: for btech in tool and mechatronics the mode of admission is through ipu cet and counselling.
seat matrix:The total seats available for b.tech mechatronics is 73 and b.tech tool engineering is 75.For details of the seat matrix check out pg 15-17 of:
http://www.ipuadmissions.nic.in/Documents/SEAT_MATRIX/SeatMatrix-BTech.pdf
Lateral entry to both tool engineering and mechatronics in the 2nd year is possible. There are 6 seats in each stream.
The matrix may vary from year to year but by and large is fairly consistent

 Facilities and events:

For events you can see the college annual report of 2014-15 pg 21-22:
http://dite.delhigovt.nic.in/pdf/AnnualReport-14-15.pdf
Now this gives you an idea that not a lot has happened from the college end when it comes to cultural activities. But last year an electronics project based competition was held. Also IEEE access and a technical society have been in talks.

Library and Book bank:
Since a the college was growing when the 2014 batch started - not a lot happened then. But things are taking a turn and a few things have changed. The college library offers book bank facility. You can avail 3 books per semester and no extra fee is charged.Apart from this you are allowed to issue 3 books from the library but they have to be returned within 2 weeks. Some less available books may not be reissued.
The labs
The electronics labs have on the whole been satisfactory. Also some of the mechanical subject labs were shifted to gb pant. But this may not be an issue in future as the college has numerous tools and machines when it comes to mechanical labs. The workshop area is more than above average. The workshop area had not been renovated during our time so our lab classes were shifted but this may not be a problem now.Again, for details on the labs you check out these links from their website:
http://dite.delhigovt.nic.in/well-designed-labs.asphttp://dite.delhigovt.nic.in/work-shop.asp
Misc Facilities and developments:
There was no wifi on the campus when I started out ( internet access in cad/cam lab is possible under supervision and library wifi could be used if you know the password!)There had been problems in accommodating new batches as this is the year of the first mechatronics batch passing out and also the first time 4 batches of mechatronics and tool studying together. But now the seating issues have been resolved.(There was some renovation process that started last summer).
There have been other rumours floating around that DITE may offer other streams like mechanical and eee in future- however I cannot confirm this.

Other details on faculty, guest faculty practice and labs are beyond the scope of this medium of communication as this is a moderated forum for objective and specific information.
Some details on placement are already on other posts including my post:

Apart from this check out :

This will tell you something about the campus location.
