On campus IT placements will be better as mostly IT companies come, so they can virtually sit in every company. Only problem with IT is that it depends upon the present market condition. It is the first branch to be affected by recession. That is why I never suggest anyone to take CSE/IT unless he/she has an interest in it.

For EEE, practically don't hope for placement in core companies on-campus. Companies like Infosys and accenture don't differentiate between branches, so there is a fair chance for EEE student there. But off-campus EEE has got large number of opportunities especially in PSUs like BHEL, NTPC, Power Grid, IOCL, SAIL, ONGC, GAIL, EIL etc where packages start around the range of 7-10 lakhs and electricity boards of different states, power plants, and other private companies in steel and power generation business.

Very simple. EEE has more govt sector jobs than IT, IT has uncountable private sector jobs.

If you want to earn really big go with IT, get into Consulting companies or do an MBA. Life will be set.
If you want to earn respect and work for govt companies, go with EEE.

In IT stream, progression into consulting, ERP and eventually an MBA to higher managerial posts is a natural progression.
In EEE, you can forget about Consultng jobs unless you're from IIT's or tier-I engg colleges. Also you will face a lot of uncomfortable questions in MBA interviews why you want switch over from hardcore technical to management. But scope of EEE in Mtech is more.

So if your aim is eventually research and devpt with an Mtech or govt jobs take EEE, if you want to earn money or do an MBA, IT is the stream to go to.

On campus placements, IT >>> EEE in about every college in Delhi including DTU or NSIT. And  don't worry of recession, the streams CSE/IT are the last to be sacked, the non-IT streams students like ECE,EEE,MAE working in IT or COnsulting companies are the ones sacked. But sacking hardly ever takes place, India is an IT country. If IT sector fails, our economy will crash completely. Do not be worried by recession to much.

Every branch yields good result if a person is interested in it, but if we chose on the fact that which one will pay off better, then one day saturation will come and we will be dissatisfied.EEE is mostly oriented towards electrical engineering and encompasses electronics only as much required. The course includes Power systems,Micro controllers, electrical circuits(Resistive,Inductive,Capacitive), Switchgears, Signal processing. EEE is all about the big or macro electrical products you see around yourself, such as House wiring, transformers, Power substations.
where in IT you will learn about only software development. Today IT sector is on boom. Hence this the best branch for getting high package job. You can get job in TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL,Accenture, yahoo, Microsoft, Google etc.
