DS can be broken into-
Algo's(Of Linked lists with stacks and queues) - This part is difficult even if you know C/C++ coz you have to cramp those Algo's . Even my DS teacher used to copy the Algo stuff .
Trees - Most interesting part , very well explained in Schaum Outlines . In exam also you will see direct questions from Schaum . I really scored from this part ..
Graphs(BFS/DFS/Warshall/Dijikstra) - You will study this again and again in the coming semesters , so consider it to be an important part .
Sorting - Numericals are easy , only the algo part is difficult . Some sorting techniques are not given in Schaum , so you have to refer some other book also ( There was a book , in which all sorting techniques were explained very categorically . Don't remember the name now , will ask from my friend ....

DS and ADA will help you most in interviews especially in big companies .. Don't skip them at any cost.

Well bro..
Depends on what you want to achieve..
If you want to score only ,,go for vp..
And if you want to gain knowledge then go for bs..

I am CSE student,from what I know,
Maths-3 easiest and Signal & systems is toughest.
STLD close to S&S in its difficulty for its huge syllabus, understanding is easy.
